Your Monday Rundown: Wind Gusts, New Eats & Local Happenings – The cold isn’t letting up, but neither is Burlington. From icy ferry closures to Firehouse Subs’ grand opening, plus upcoming events, sports highlights, and where to warm up with live music, here’s what’s happening around town.

Good evening, Burlington!
The weekend’s snowfall may be dwindling, but the icy roads and fierce winds are keeping winter’s grip firmly in place around Burlington. High winds in the 40 to 50 mile per hour range are expected to persist into Monday night, which could send a few tree limbs into the road and keep wind chills below zero for much of the evening. Tuesday looks calmer, though any remaining flurries in the higher elevations could linger. You can expect another round of chilly air midweek with highs in the teens, and there’s a slight chance of light snow Thursday if a coastal low shifts inland. Better news arrives as we approach the weekend, when Friday and Saturday turn partly sunny, with daily highs inching into the 20s. Early next week might nudge the mercury closer to 40, but keep a coat handy because an extra cold snap or two could still sneak up on us.
If you’re heading out over the next couple of days, layer up and mind the wind gusts, especially if you’re out and about for evening shows, trivia nights, or salsa lessons. From line dancing lessons tonight to open mic comedy tomorrow and speed dating on Wednesday, there's a lot happening around town. Breezy weather might shake a few branches loose, but it won’t stop Burlington from getting out there for a little winter fun.

Today's high of 20°F and low of 6°F are both below Burlington's typical February 17th averages of 32°F and 15°F, respectively.
But first, here’s a trivia question to see how well you’re caught up with recent news: (Answer at the bottom)
